HSE Officers & Supervisors

Overview of the Role

Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) professionals are critical in ensuring the safety and compliance of industrial and offshore operations. In the oil, gas, and dredging sectors, HSE officers and supervisors play a pivotal role in minimizing risks and protecting personnel, equipment, and the environment. This position demands not only technical knowledge but also practical experience in offshore projects, subsea operations, and adherence to international safety standards. The role is vital in maintaining operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety across all levels of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

HSE Officers and Supervisors are responsible for planning, implementing, and monitoring safety procedures on offshore and onshore sites. Their main duties include conducting safety audits, identifying hazards, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, and promoting proactive risk management strategies. They provide guidance and training to project teams, investigate incidents, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Additionally, HSE personnel liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to maintain certification standards and approvals, particularly for large-scale offshore installations and subsea projects. Their contribution directly impacts the operational efficiency and overall safety of the workplace.

Required Skills and Expertise

Candidates must possess a strong technical background in health, safety, and environmental management, preferably with offshore experience. Essential qualifications include NEBOSH IGC certification, valid BOSIET and H2S training, and first aid/BLS credentials. Professional memberships such as ASP, CSP, CRSP, CMIOSH, NCSO, or MIIRSM are highly valued. Experience with offshore dredging, installation, subsea operations, and Aramco-approved projects is mandatory. Successful applicants should demonstrate excellent communication, risk assessment, and incident management skills, along with the ability to lead teams under challenging offshore conditions. Practical knowledge of safety protocols, environmental protection, and emergency response procedures is crucial for this role.
